Your child begins having his/her faith formed by you at birth! Formal Religious Education classes (catechesis) begin in Kindergarten and are often a natural extension of Nursery School. The goal of formal Faith Formation classes is “to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ and to teach our young people how to live out the Gospel message in their lives”.

Registration for formal Religious Education classes begins in March for the following September. After September 1st students are accepted as there is space and catechists available.

Children can begin formal Religious Education classes in a variety of entry points. Don’t despair if life’s circumstances are bringing your child to Faith Formation at an older age or your child has had gaps in their Faith Formation studies. This is a very common occurrence and we will work with you and your child’s individual needs.

Grades K -4

Students in Grade K-4 attend one hour weekly sessions that typically begin the end of September and end in early April, excluding holidays and school days off. Homeschooling is also available for Kindergarten and grades 3 and 4.

For the safety of our children, class schedules are not posted online. Class schedules are mailed home after Labor Day or at the time a child enters the program if not registered by September 1st.

The Faith Formation Program uses the ‘Blest Are We’ Series published by RCL Benziger.

The Middle School Youth Ministry Program uses the Scripture Walk Series published by St. Mary’s Press. These are active sessions, and are followed with pizza, soda, and fun (Community Life component. See more on the next page titled Youth Ministry.)
