My dear parishioners of St. Madeleine Sophie and St. Gabriel’s, Our Lady Queen of Peace and St. Margaret of Cortona, peace in Christ. Though I have had the great pleasure of meeting many of you, I thought I would write this short piece in order to introduce myself. My name is Fr. Stephen Yusko, and I have been a priest of the Diocese for a little over a year. I was born and raised in Hudson, NY, where my parents still reside, so I am not too far from home – a fact that makes my parents very happy, particularly my mother. I am a graduate of Hudson High School, where I was the captain of my baseball team. After High School, I attended the University of Alabama (Roll Tide!) as a freshman before transferring to SUNY Oneonta where I graduated in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Economics. While running from the call to the priesthood, I worked for the NYS Assembly for several years before deciding to enter Seminary. I was blessed to attend the Pontifical North American College in Rome, IT for my seminary formation, where I completed my licentiate degree in Moral Theology with a concentration in Bioethics from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas (Angelicum) this past June. It is an honor for me to be ministering to you all, and I pray that during my time here we may grow in the love of Christ and His Church, as well as in our love for one another. Finally, please know that I am here for you all, so if you have any questions – particularly regarding the faith, morals, or bioethics – I’ll be happy to try to help as best I can. I look forward to serving you. May God bless you all!

                                                            In Christ, through Mary,

                                                            Fr. Yusko
