We are dedicated to creating a place for everyone to make a connection and grow in faith through prayer, lifelong learning, service, discipleship and pastoral support. We at OLQP and St Margaret of Cortona parish strive to bring God's reconciling love to the world. We are blessed with individuals that willingly give of their time to help others.

​​​OLQP Altar Rosary Society The Altar Rosary Society supports the Church, priests, and deacons in prayer and in buying and maintaining items used in Mass – purificators, flowers, pyx, altar cloths, etc. We also hold several fundraisers for the parish each year, including a spring drawing, chicken BBQ, fall fun fair, bake sale, and card parties. We support our Faith Formation program in whatever may be their need, including purchasing bibles and bears for Confirmation and Communion. St. Margaret's Rosary Altar Society Join us as we continue to create and strengthen our church community
with open arms and reaching out. That includes working with our sister Rosarians from our

Altar Servers Altar Servers are assigned to assist the priest and deacon at The Celebration of the Eucharist on Sunday and Holy Days on a regularly scheduled basis. The ministry is open to all adults and youth of the parish who have made their First Communion and who attend The Celebration of the Eucharist each week. Training is provided. Bereavement Ministry We are a group of parishioners who come together to help at funeral Masses, supporting those who are mourning the loss of a loved one. Our roles can include lecturing, serving as Eucharistic ministers at the funeral Mass, and then cleaning up the altar, the vessels, and the church after a funeral. Our ministry also sends a card to the families afterwards, letting them know they are in our thoughts and prayers. If you are interested in this healing ministry, contact Kathy Stagnitti 518 355-6880

OLQP - We read in Psalm 95 that the purpose of music and singing is to rejoice in and worship the Lord. The OLQP Music Ministry does this by leading the congregation in song at all of our weekend and holy day liturgies. We are always looking for new voices and instrumentalists. Greeter/Usher Ministry Often the usher is the first face people see when entering a church. If you are someone who likes to meet people, appreciates the value of a warm smile and a friendly hello, this may be the perfect role for you. Ushers also pass the basket during the Offertory, designate people to carry the gifts up to the altar, guide people during and after Communion and straighten up the pews after Mass. Hospitality [St Margaret's] Help to set up the weekly coffee hour, which has become quite the event. If you help with set-up, you arrive at church at 9 am. Mass begins at 10 am. Coffee hour [which has really become more of a weekly brunch] follows. Join the fun and fellowship as you help to make it all possible. Clean up crews are also appreciated. Hospitality/Social Committee [OLQP] If you like to bake, cook, and socialize, this may be right up your alley. The
hospitality team does it all. From after Mass coffee hours on the third weekend of every month,
to receptions for First Communions and Confirmations, and any other event involving social
time and good food, we are the go-to group. Volunteers are asked to bring a sweet treat, or
food item to share. You will help to set up, serve and clean up. It may sound like work, but it is a

Lectors What a blessing to be able to share the word of God during the Mass. Each lector
receives a guidebook with the Sunday readings, tips on how to present the readings, and
thoughts on the meaning of the readings. Sharing in this ministry can enrich your Mass

St. Margaret's Prayer Shawl Ministry We are a group of people who give comfort to those afflicted with chronic or terminal illness and loss through the offering of their time in prayer and knitting or crocheting shawls for them. People taking part in this expression of compassion are inspired by prayers and stories of faith and hope. Please contact us if you know someone who could be a recipient of a shawl. If you would like to join the group, all levels of crafters are welcome. Patterns and help provided. We also have a large supply of donated yarn.
