Safe Environment

Requirements to Volunteer with Children/Youth/Vulnerable Adults

The Diocese of Albany and Our Lady Queen of Peace/Saint Margaret of Cortona Parish are committed to meeting our responsibility of ensuring that children and young people are safe from harm, especially that of sexual abuse.  We uphold the principles contained in the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, as adopted by the Bishops of the United States. This includes background checks and Safe Environment training for all staff and volunteers who have contact with children and teens. The Human Resources Director of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany serves as the Diocesan Safe Environment Coordinator and works by administering the Safe Environment awareness training (CMG Connect) and background screening (TruView) programs for all diocesan and parish staff as well as volunteers who work with children.    Please click here to be directed to the Safe Environment Tools and Resources:   https://www.rcda.org/offices/safe-environment
